For almost 60 years, Hilton Athens has stood tall as a city landmark, representing the optimism of its era. Designed by renowned architects Emmanuel Vourekas, Prokopis Vassiliadis, Anthony Georgiades, and Spyros Staikos this building marked Greece’s entry into the global luxury tourism market, serving as a quintessential symbol of post-war development. This modernist icon boasts impressive facades along with the iconic compositions by acclaimed artist Yiannis Moralis combining architectural modernism with classical references and timeless Greek aesthetic ideals, leading in a harmonious coexistence of past and present.

A GLOBAL DESTINATION

The arrival of a global hotel brand in 1963 marked a new era for Athens, establishing it as an international tourist destination. Hilton Athens quickly became a portal to the world, showcasing the cosmopolitan face of Athens. The hotel attracted a distinguished international audience, including many celebrities and world leaders. Numerous national firsts occurred here: the first brunch, the first skyline bar and the first art gallery in a hospitality setting.

Building on its rich legacy, this historic building in the heart of the Ilisia neighborhood is being transformed into a unique mixed-use hub. It will feature a luxury hotel, private branded residences, House of NYNN private lifestyle members’ club, a wide-range of gastronomic experiences, and an array of services and facilities that will redefine city living in Athens.

HOSPITALITY AND LIVING

“Conrad Athens, The Ilisian” opens a new chapter in Athenian hospitality and is set to define luxury with its contemporary take on understated elegance. The hotel will offer 307 guest rooms and suites as well as a wide range of conference and event venues.“Conrad Residences Athens, The Ilisian” and “Waldorf Astoria Athens, The Ilisian” will feature 55 branded and serviced private residences, introducing a novel residential experience in the city center.Along with prominent views of the Acropolis, and bespoke services, hotel guests and residents will enjoy an array of unique facilities such as the largest pool landscape in the city center and an urban roof garden with outdoor sports area.

GASTRONOMY AND ENTERTAINMENT

The Ilisian will be a multifaceted destination introducing more than 10 distinct culinary and entertainment offerings, with innovative, complementary concepts, establishing it as a manifold entertainment hub in the city’s grid.The iconic ‘Galaxy Bar’ is being reintroduced as ‘The Galaxy Dispensary’ – an eclectic gastro bar with a large wine and premium spirits’ collection. Next to ‘The Galaxy Dispensary’ will be ‘The Galaxy Supper Club,’ an exclusive upscale dining venue. This, along with a unique international gastronomy and entertainment concept, will revitalize the building’s top floor.The Byzantino restaurant, an Athenian institution, will be reinvented as an all-day, chic brasserie, showcasing a crossover of Greek signature dishes and French classics.The hotel’s lounge café and bar will be the heart of the vibrant lobby area, attracting locals and visitors from early morning until late at night.The new poolside building on Michalakopoulou street will house a refined Japanese restaurant with a sophisticated culinary offering and elegant design.The culinary experiences are enhanced by additional ethnic and immersive dining options, while an all-day lively outdoor bar-restaurant will serve the pool area.

HOUSE OF NYNN

Extending over three levels and occupying more than 5,000 m², House of NYNN is a different kind of private members’ club being developed for Athens’ dynamic community and beyond.
